The Rain

What is so lovely,
As the raindrops that fall?
To hear the thunder roar,
Is to hear the skies call.

To hear it's loud cry,
Then to see it's amazing lights.
It has so much beauty,
And it has so much might.

Yet, though it can be fierce,
and strike fear into the heart.
It also can be gentle,
Like the singing of a Lark.

I love to stand and watch it,
To see it fall with grace.
And then I close my eyes,
As it gently touches my face.

The rain is just like teardrops,
which is Love, Joy, Anguish, and Pain.
But, most of all, A Promise,
Which God, Himself, did bring.
